The Top 5. This is it, kids. You voted for the best albums of the year, and in this final episode of the year, we go for broke.

Did Madlib hang on to number one? How about Immortal Technique? Who is the loan South African challenger? And what about this dark horse gunning for the top spot? We got hundreds of emails nominating many, many albums, but these are the ones that quite simply got it right.

All this, plus the worst albums of '08 (oh yes we did!). It's an episode jam-packed with goodness, and you can't afford to miss it.

Who knew the Czech Republic could bang this hard? DJ Wich got a whole bunch of dope MCs on board (Royce, Guilty SImpson, Cali Agents, Kweli, Raekwon...you get the idea) and made one of the best albums of the year.

Prague is in the building. Yes, the whole city (it's a big building) and we have tracks on here.

So that's DJ Wich, MOP, Cali Agents plus Skreintax, Lowkey and Hillz.

FREE DOWNLOAD: RE-INVENTION ALBUM SAMPLER (03/12/08)

Here's an early Christmas present.

A few months ago, a South African producer called San (the Instro-Monumentalist if you want to give him his formal title) decided to gather together his favourite producers and make a remix album.

San knew he could draw on a serious well of talent, so he sent out messages to friends and associates like Alias, the Rebbi, Dharma Buns, Sub Zero, Myth, J-One, Biz-Ark-Human and Cyntom. These names will, all things considered, not be familiar to you.

That's OK. You can trust me on this one.

San brought his collective together and despatched acapellas. The command? Make it dope. Make it bump. Make it, if possible, iller than the original. And call it 'Re-Invention: A Producer's Album'

Then his other buddy DJ Match took all the tracks and made a funky little sampler for your listening pleasure.

The album is coming soon, and the sampler is a sneak preview. We don't normally do this, but it's crafted with love, detail and charisma, and is a great listen. It has remixes of joints by Nas, Slum V, Freddie Foxx, Kanye, Heather B, Jay-Z and loads more.

DL. Give these boys some shine you know they deserve.
